And on this day, it is paramount to remember and pay tribute those who gave their lives so that we might enjoy the lifestyle that we have today. And honor those veterans that are still with us. This is their day, first and foremost.
With the Road to the Roar now complete, two womens teams and two mens teams are going through to the Roar of the Rings. On the womens side, it was Team Sonnenburg and Team Sweeting. Rene Sonnenburg is no stranger to the big stage. She was at the Scotties in 2001 and 2009. Sweeting was at the Scotties in 2010. They will have their hands full when they meet the other six in Winnipeg, Chelsea Carey, Jennifer Jones, Heather Nedohin, Rachel Homan, Stephanie Lawton and Sherry Middaugh.
On the Mens side, it was Team morris and Team Jacobs. morris qualified out of the A with a win over Gushue and then in a barnburner last night, Gushue was upended for a second time by Jacobs and the team from Sault Ste Marie will join the others in Winnipeg. The other six are Kevin Koe, John Epping, Glen Howard, Kevin Martin, Jeff Stoughton and Mike McEwen. hard to pick a winner out this pack...it will be whomever is peaking at the right time.
Olympic trials begin December 1st.
